Travelogue: Langkawi - Day 2

14 March 2016

SkyDome, Langkawi Cable Car, 3D museum, Skyrex

We started our day shine and bright after having good rest the night before. First place we are going to is the famous Langkawi Cable Car. There, few other attractions are located such as SkyDome, SkyRex, 3D Museum and etc.

When we arrived there, the queue is already quite long. Well, its school holiday so I understand why there are so many people queuing to get their tickets. I’m lucky to have bought the tickets online so I didn’t have to join the crowds. Pheww. There are 4 or 5 packages that you can choose (I’m not quite sure). The package that I bought for each members of my family is Package B, which consists of SkyDome, Langkawi Cable Car, 3D Museum and SkyRex.

As soon as we got the tickets, we are heading to the cable car location. There, the queue to ride the cable car is already long. Before riding the cable car, we are first headed to SkyDome which are located in the queuing area, before the staffs assist us to the cable car area. SkyDome is just a 5-minutes tayangan video while we were waiting for the cable car to arrive and pick us.

Teehee ;)

View from inside the cable car

There are a total of three station; the lower station, middle station and top station. The lower station is where we first departed and where the SkyDome is located. Then, we rode the cable car to the middle station. You can enjoyed the view at the middle station for a while and taking pictures (that’s me) before queuing back to ride the cable car to the top station. Don’t worry, the queue is not that long compared to when you are queuing at the lower station. You won’t be waiting for so long. The view at the top station is so beautiful, and it is quite cold at the top station. There's a love lock for couples, especially married couples to lock their love so that they will stay together forever. I hope. Also, a sky walk. But we didn't try the sky walk, as we didn't wear proper shoes and the weather is quite hot.

Love lock :)

After almost an hour enjoying ourselves at the top station, we decided to go back to the lower station. When you are going down to the lower station, you won’t stop at the middle station. The cable car will directly went to the lower station. Arrived at the lower station, we stopped by at the souvenir shop to buy some souvenir. I just bought a keychain and fridge magnet.

Next, we headed to 3D Museum. Well, it’s the same as the one we went at Sabah; full of 3D arts. The difference between these two museums would be their 3D arts and note that this museum is bigger than the museum at Sabah. Another credit to this museum is for their management. Visitors didn’t have to bring their shoes along while going around the museum and while taking pictures. We just need to drop the shoes at the counter at the entrance before going into the museum, and pick them up after completed the tour.

We are left with the last attraction in the package we bought; the Skyrex. We quickly went to the Skyrex area and as expected, the queue is so long. It’s already noon and the weather is quite hot. But, we didn’t give up queuing. After queuing more than half an hour, it’s finally our turn. Skyrex is actually a 10-minutes 4D video about the dinosaurs. We get to experience how it would like to be in the dinosaur’s era, how it would like to survive from the wild and aggressive carnivores. It’s quite fun. I’m happy, and so do my family.

Overall, I’m satisfied to buy this package. It worth the price. Oh yea. You can check the tickets and packages here Langkawi Cable Car: Tickets and Packages

We went to the food court first for lunch before going to the next place. After having our lunch, my younger sister had the opportunity to try flying fox for children (not for adult, unfortunately). She was so eager to try it because I told her it was fun. Yeah, flying fox is a fun activity. The fee is RM10/person.

Kampung Kedah: Makam Mahsuri

We are on our way to Kampung Kedah when we discovered a stall selling ABC. Since the weather is hot, we stopped by to eat ABC, donuts and noodle soup. Kikiki. Yea yea I know that we just have our lunch but we couldn’t resist the temptation.

Doesn't it looks so tempting?

We strolling around for more than an hour at Kampung Kedah and visited Mahsuri’s house, her parents’, the well which are used during her time (until now) and Makam Mahsuri. I feel pity for her and her family, if it’s true that she was slandered. But deep down in my heart I think that the story is true. I don’t know.

Beras terbakar

We went Beras Terbakar, next. It’s located at the market selling goods such as T-shirts, medicine oils, and other stuffs. The place where the rice was burnt is quite small and I almost didn’t noticed it until my sister showed it to me. But but! The house there is so beautiful, and it is one of the attraction at Beras Terbakar. People going there will take a shot or many shots of them posing in front of the house (read: stairs) as prove that they have been there at Beras Terbakar. Well, I wouldn’t want to miss taking some prove too, should I? ;)

The famous photo-zone :)

We went to the night market to buy some food for dinner before heading home to get some rest and recharge energy for tomorrow’s adventure.
