Travelogue: Langkawi - Day 1

It’s become one of my favorite hobby to always check for low fare and affordable tickets, and coincidently Malaysia Airlines is holding a promotion few months before the school holiday in March. After discussing with my family, we thought that the return tickets are cheap, considering it is for four flights; KCH-KUL, KUL-LGK, LGK-KUL and KUL-KCH. So, we decided to go to Langkawi this time and managed to grab the tickets at its low fare.

Departs early at 9.25 am from Kuching, we arrived KLIA at 11.20 am. While waiting for our next flight to Langkawi, we go around the airport while searching a place to have our lunch. Our flight to Langkawi was supposedly to take off at 1.20 pm, but has been reschedule to be an hour later. So, we arrived Langkawi at 3.20 pm.

Grabbed a map at the arriving hall.

Since we arrived at noon, there’s nothing much we can do. So, we look for our homestay on our own by using a GPS. Before that, the car for our 5 days use have been delivered to us at the airport. After unloading every luggage we have, we decided to buy some toiletries and go for basic groceries shopping. Going around without knowing where exactly we should go, we found Langkawi Plaza on our way and luckily there are few restaurants in front of the mall (on the other side of the road).

And again, food hunting begin. We tried seafood for dinner, before going to the mall and buy things and chocolates. Eh? Hahaha.

First meal at Langkawi Island.

Next, we are heading home for some rest and planning things for tomorrow’s journey. Well, not forgetting to unpack our luggage too. It’s a bit exhausting to start your day early in the morning while busy catching 2 flights on the same day, isn’t?

P/S: If you are a chocolate lover, make sure you hold yourself from going insane ;) There are lots of chocolate and they were selling them cheap. Well, Langkawi is a free-duty zone what?
